What Is a Wireframe?

If you have an idea for a website or mobile application, chances are one of the first things you will do after your vet your idea will be to create a wireframe.

What is a wireframe?

A wireframe is a visual representation of the elements on a website or mobile application. Typically they are created in black and white and can be hand drawn or created using a online tool.

Why is a wireframe important?

Wireframes are important to help communicate your vision of a mobile app or website that you’re trying to create clearly to the designer or developer you are working with.

Wireframes are done at the very beginning of the design process and take much less time than full design work. Creating wireframes make it easy to iterate and help give a designer or developer direction when turning your idea into a real product.
